Growing Weaner Deer. Overcoming Nutritional Constraints in Southern Australia

Report on effects of feed on young deer that have been forcibly removed from their mothers. ''This publication reports on studies conducted over two seasons that compared a range of feed
supplements provided to fallow deer for the first 10-12 weeks post-weaning, and monitored the
performance of the deer when they were turned onto high-quality annual medic and perennial lucerne
during late winter and spring. Management strategies to increase the proportion of weaners that
reach marketable weights by early summer are discussed.''
