Road Kill - While looking out for wildlife on our roads this Spring, don't forget to look out for the reptiles.

Did you know that Shingle Back lizards mate for life? They are apart for most of the year, however come Spring time they go in search of their partners to meet up and raise young. Additionally, in order to gain energy for this search as cold-blooded animals, they are known to sun-bake on roads.

Roads are typically unforgiving for all wildlife, this is especially true for the little bodies of reptiles. When driving try to avoid driving over them and if it's safe to do so help them over roads and to the relative safety of roadside vegetation.
